Alternative refrigerant reforming system for air conditioning and refrigeration units.
The HFC refrigerants used in air conditioning systems such as air conditioners and refrigerators are known to form clusters due to their physical properties, which deteriorates the efficiency of heat exchange and flow paths. Subaru Technology Co., Ltd. launched the "R-Optimizer" (patented) two years ago, which injects free electrons into these clusters by attaching electrodes to the refrigerant pipes and supplying electrons, promoting their decomposition without making significant modifications to the air conditioning units. We have already delivered over 1,000 units. By improving the efficiency of the refrigerant, the operating time of the compressors in the air conditioning systems has been reduced, resulting in a 10-20% reduction in electricity costs (*1), and we have received positive feedback from customers. While many devices have already been proposed for improving electricity costs in air conditioning systems, there are many doubts regarding their technology and effectiveness. Subaru Technology has conducted demonstration experiments of the R-Optimizer at customer facilities and has sold the product after gaining customer satisfaction. We began selling the new product "R-Optimizer V-11" in April 2024.
